A TRADITIONAL INDIAN SAREE
In India Saree is not a traditional dress actually it shows the culture and beauty of an Indian Women. Different states of India have different type of Sarees. which represent the Indian style, culture and symbol of Indian Women. In India there are more then 80 ways a women can wear a saree.
There is a significant meaning attached with this cloth in the form of different colors, pattern and design. This various colors, pattern and design represent a Women from which states she belongs too.
The length of an Indian sarees is around (4 meters to 8 meters) in length and (60 cm to 1.2 m) in breadth . The most common being is Nivi style sari which originates from Andhra Pradesh.
And the most common color to be worn is Red. Red is the color of celebration, love, joy and Wedding.The sari is usually worn over a petticoat with a fitted upper garment commonly called a blouse (ravike in South India and Choli elsewhere). The blouse has short sleeves and is usually cropped at the midriff. The sari is associated with grace and is widely regarded as a symbol of grace in cultures of the Indian subcontinent.
Types of Indian Sarees according to Indian State.
- Assam Silk Saree: Assam Silk produce three types of silk. Golden Muga, White Pat and and warm Eri Silk. Sualkuchi is a multi-caste town under Guwahati Sub-division of Kamrup district of Assam which produces large amount and variety of Assam Silk Sarees. a) Golden Muga: Muga Silk is a product of silkworm Antheraea assamensis to Assam. The slk which is produce from muga is famous for its fine texture and durability. b)White Pat: Pat is produce by Bombyx textor silkworm which feed on mulberry leaves. It is made of White or Off-White in colour. Due to its white tint it gives gloomy texture and durability. c)Eri Silk It is made by Samia Cynthia which feed on castor oil plant. The Silk which is produce is very Soft and Warm. Mostly this Silk is used to make Shawls and Quilts
- Banarasi Saree: Originated from the city of goddess know as Varanasi one of the most Popular saree's of India is Banarasi Saree. It is believed that making of Varanasi saree started from 17 century in India. The design of this Saree is inspired by Mughal Era. Design like intricate intertwining Flora and foliate motifs, kalga and bel. Depending on the Design and Pattern, a Saree can take from 20 days to a month to Complete Mostly Indian Women wears Banarasi Saree on a important occasion like wedding, festival. Banarasi Saree represents Indian Culture, Religion, and beauty of the Indian Society
